Badge graphics can be created and designed outside of openbadges.me using any available graphics software. Once complete, the badges can be imported into openbadges.me by uploading them into your openbadges.me graphics area. Uploaded graphics sit alongside those created using the openbadges.me graphics designer.
Each uploaded graphic is given a name and description to aid identification and housekeeping within the openbadges.me graphics area.
There are some restrictions placed on the uploaded graphic:
- The file size must be no greater than 20mb.
- Only graphics of file type JPEG or PNG can be uploaded.
There are no limits to the number of uploaded graphics help within the openbadges.me graphics area. However, graphics can only be uploaded one at a time.
Each uploaded graphic, regardless of dimensions, is compressed down to 300 x 300 to standardise presentation.
In support of copyright law, when uploading the graphic a user is asked to accept the following disclaimer: "In choosing to use this graphic you confirm that it is either your own work, freely licensed or available in the public domain."
Uploaded graphics become available for inclusion in the badge definition process only after they have been published.
